There are too many
We are too much
Can’t you see
You cannot contain me
Perhaps we don’t need to
Instead we need
To set you free
Lost in space you’ll wander
Energy will dissipate
And eventually you’ll flounder
And find your way back to me
Needing no container
But rather
Perhaps a blanket
Or a warm embrace
You could have asked and received
But you needed the journey
To learn about the path
And what waits at the ending
You struggle even now
Wrangling and flailing
Needing space and time
And that’s all fine
And necessary
Tears will flow
Rage will pound
Pain will scream
Grief will drown
Exhaustion sleep
Safe and sound
Fear will flee, and fight, and flounder
Cradled softly
Beneath my steady gaze
All welcome to wander
So what is this?
A container of sorts
With no walls, no locks
There’s no ceiling, no door
Emotions galore
Within these words
Free to be felt
Even adored
Bringing depth and meaning
A life worth living
In vivid color
Brilliance and being.
Match Our Supportive Community!
Dear friends!
What a special community we have created here at DW! It’s a place we can come to be seen, heard, understood, and supported through our writing. We would like DW to continue to not just exist, but to thrive well into the future. That’s why we’re working so hard to become a Nonprofit.
So far, we’ve raised $3,303 towards our goal of $4000. Thank you to all who have contributed so far! Your dollars will go even further in December as several generous DW supporters have offered to match your contributions this month.
In this season of giving, now is the perfect time to consider a gift to DW Writes On! Every gift, no matter the size, counts. Click here to take advantage of our December Match. Help keep our community flourishing for a long time to come!
